Description
Long Gully Estate Premium Range Yarra Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2008. The 2008 vintage, like the previous two, was extraordinarily early. Flavour development in the fruit this year was ahead of sugar development which is not common but beneficial in that it allows us to pick fruit with great characters but not high potential alcohol. The 2008 Sauvignon Blanc is a complex wine. About 20% wild ferment in older French oak puncheons contributes a fig and nutty complexity to a wine that has plenty of gooseberry, grapefruit-citrus characters and a hint of the typically savvy grassiness. This wine has a voluptuous fruitiness and finishes with clean juicy acidity that freshens the palate.
