Multi award winning Chardonnay. Estate grown, produced and bottled in the Yarra Valley. The 2007 vintage got off to a devastating start. A massive frost in late October of 2006 coupled with an extraordinarily early fruit set wiped out 75% of our vineyard. Major drought also contributed to the harsh conditions that we had to battle through. Fully barrel fermented in 25% new French oak, this wine exhibits a minerally and citrus peel zing with pear and white peach. Stirring the dead yeast cells (lees) in the barrel each fortnight contributes a mealy, biscuity character which compliments the spicy and toasty notes from the barrel fermentation. This wine drinks beautifully now, but will reward the patience of further cellaring.
