Description
This intense 2000 Cabernet projects a brilliant med-rich ruby red colour. The aromas show briary and earthy characters with savoury notes, including blackberry, cassis and some bitter chocolate. The palate has sweet spice, liquorice, aniseed and subtle yet persistent tannins reflecting the warm dry summer of 2000. Post fermentation maceration, and maturation in French oak barriques for over two years has produced a superbly balanced wine with refined, cool climate Cabernet characters. Decanting is recommended.
