Description
Long Gully Estate's famous 'Ice Riesling' emulates the well known 'Ice Wines' of Germany and Canada is one of only four ice wines produced in Australia. It is made from the freeze concentrated juice of late harvested, premium Estate grown Riesling grapes. Produced in extremely limited quantities due to the huge expense to make, this is one of our most popular wines and is constantly described as nothing short of 'sublime'. While it is categorised as a sweet dessert wine, it has a firm acid 'backbone' that doesn't leave the palate with a sickly sweet finish as some dessert wines can do. Magnificently concentrated, it displays the powerful characters of Riesling. Citrus elements of lime and grapefruit with hints of ginger and spicy orange rind are supported on the palate by an unctuous sweetness.
